.44 Caliber percussion, standard 8" barrel. Working action. Honest chocolate brown patina to metal and unpolished brass triggerguard. Visible New York barrel address. Bore has strong rifling and typical saltiness with some pits.

Matching numbers on barrel, frame, triggerguard, backstrap and arbor pin. Wedge does not match and cylinder number is not legible. No visible scene on cylinder. Colts Patent on frame and Martial inspector's initial on various parts.

One piece walnut wood grips are original to the gun, have no legible cartouche and one panel has a repair to the nose. The 1860 Army was the major revolver in use by U.S. Troops during the Civil War.

This is a solid "been there" example for your collection.
