Rare Cut For Shoulder Stock Colt Civilian 1860 Army Revolver Matching Serial Numbers 81286S

According to the authority in all matters 1860 Army, author and researcher extraordinaire, Charles Pate, Serial number 81286S is the earliest civilian 1860 cut for stock to be recorded. Each stamped number has an ’S’ stamped beneath indicating cut for shoulder stock or as Colonel Colt referred to them “carbine breech”.

The barrel with good Colt markings exhibits a smooth deep even age brown as does the rammer The cylinder has a full Naval Engagement scene and beautiful even age brown patina.
