5 Inch Barrel One Line New York Address Colt Model 1849 Pocket Revolver

This fine Colt is the scarce 5 inch barrel model and remains in fine to excellent condition throughout. The barrel retains 20% bright original blue the rest having flaked with no wear to speak of. The rammer exhibits much faded case color with some brightness. The forcing cone has 70% bright blue. The cylinder has 100% of the stagecoach holdup scene and 75% bright blue. All 5 safety pins are intact though one is slightly reduced.

The frame has much fading original casehardening. The hammer has some “rainbow” case color remaining. The back-strap retains 95% of the darkened untouched silver and the trigger-guard has 85% of the same beautiful silver remaining.

The grip has 95% of the original Colt factory varnish with almost no marks or wear. The bore is good with strong rifling. The front of the trigger-guard protrudes slightly from the grip. All screw slots are nearly perfect with much original blue on the heads.

If this sounds like a really great Colt 49’er that is because it is. The action has minor indexing issues which likely accounts for the condition being so good. With careful cleaning this untouched Colt will only get more valuable and more attractive.
