A Fine First Year Production Colt Model 1862 Police Percussion Revolver Serial Number 5026 For 1861.
4 and 1/2 inch barrel, in .36 caliber. This is a very fine percussion Colt. The barrel with 85% bright original blue. The loading lever has some bright case colors. Fluted cylinder with 40% original blue mixing with age brown and flaking. The pin safeties are worn smooth. Frame has 80% fading case colors with some bright rainbow colors. The triggerguard and backstrap have 95% silver plating.
One piece walnut grips have 95% original Colt factory varnish with a few minor marks on extreme flat of butt. Matching wedge with much finish. Matching numbers.
Action is as crisp as new. Bore is good with some roughness. Screws retain some original blue and slots are untouched. Well deserving of a case and accessories.
