Unmarked Model 1840 Pattern Heavy Cavalry Sabre (Old Wristbreaker)

This saber has a nice blade with considerable original bright polish, scattered light staining and no pitting. The top of the guard has been bent down by the trooper that used it.

The guard is loose because of the loss of its leather washer. The grip is original with all of its wire intact and has some areas of light wear or flaking of the leather. It is tight at the pommel, but loose when turned on the blade.

The scabbard has plumbed out and is in very nice condition with one small dent near the throat.

The saber and scabbard are untouched throughout and unrubbed; this is a very nice saber and scabbard.
