Scarce Model C78 Mauser Zig-Zag Cylinder Revolver For 1878 Serial Number 2143

5 and 1/4 inch barrel. 9mm caliber. Top flat fully marked “GEBR MAUSER & CE OBERNDORF A/WURTTEMBERG 1878”. Six shot “zig-zag cylinder. Blued barrel and frame. Nickel hammer and take-down ring lever. Frame and barrel are a smooth brown patina with only the minor roughness and excellent markings. Take-down and hammer retain 75% original nickel. Cylinder is even brown patina with no roughness. Original checkered walnut grips with some wear overall but sound. The action is excellent, the bore is fine.

These are the progenitor of the famous Webley Fosbury automatic revolver and Peter and Paul Mauser’s first successful revolver. The Zig-Zag Mauser is a must have for any collector of early cartridge revolvers or the Mauser collector. Serial number 2143 is a good example of this scarce and desirable pistol.
