The 35 1/4" mostly bright blade has no chips and has clear markings, maker "SA" (Springfield Armory) and 1914 date. The hilt retains much original finish mixed with oxidation and no serious dings. Original enlisted scabbard is intact with the throat showing most of its finish and the drag exhibiting oxidation. Overall length in scabbard 43".
A great example of this popular sword designed by the U.S. Army's first "Master of the Sword".
