Civil War era Series III Manhattan .36 Caliber Model Revolver, aka "Navy Type".
All matching numbers including the wedge. Pleasing gray/brown patina and unpolished brass grip frame. Trigger guard still has some original silver plate. Desirable and scarce 6 1/2" barrel. Nice bore with frosting and a few pits, but strong lands and grooves. Five shot cylinder with visible outline of scenes.
Original walnut grips retain much varnish and show expected wear and mars. Action could use some adjustment.
With only about 78,000 made, interest in the Manhattan has been steadily increasing in recent years. This scarce 6 1/2" barrel revolver is a fine example.
